This Color Makes You Look Older

According to Daily Mail, the color black ages your face!
Black clothing and accessories worn near your face can highlight:
- Dark lines under the skin
- Shadows around the eyes
- Lines and wrinkles
Despite its reputation on flattering women’s figures and being a versatile and classic piece that suit every occasion, black does indeed have less flattering side-effects.
Some Women Can Wear Black Well. Guess Who?
Yup, Winter women with complexions consisting of pale, cool and dramatic colouring such as Anne Hathaway, Liv Tyler and Jada Pinkett:

Compared them with Beyoncé:
I noticed it right away when I saw this picture of BeyoncĂ© wearing a black dress. Black looks harsh on her soft and warm complexion. It seems to highlight the lines in her face and neck, as well make her skin look ashen. Warm skin complexions such as Autumns and Springs don’t seem to cope well with black because of its vivid shade that overshadows their golden skin tone.
One exception is Autumns with very red/auburn hair. Black seems to be a wonderful contrasting color that enhances the beauty of reddish hair.
And although Summers do have cool undertones, they’re still too soft (because of the lack of contrast between and hair and skin and eyes) to wear black well.
The Good News is That Anyone Can Wear Black But…
you have to make sure that:
- The top or dress has some color in the top
- You wear black away from your face, preferably from your waist and down. Example: A strapless black dress with low neckline.
- You add a scarf, earrings, makeup or/and necklace in your personal palette to counter the harsh black
Does Black Suit You or Not?
The best trick to find out is to hold up a black clothing against your face. Take note if lines, marks and dark eye circles get highlighted. If the imperfections don’t become more visible, you can probably wear black close to your face and look great.

A great explanation of those who look great in Black. It is nice to hear someone say that we can all wear it, only differently.
